Why West View exists
Sober living transformed my life. West View is how I give that back.
By every outside measure, my career was working — I built a career as a top-performing medical device sales rep, the kind of job where you're measured every quarter and there's nowhere to hide. What nobody measured was what my drinking and using were costing me. Getting sober rebuilt my life from the inside out, and structured sober living was a critical part of how that happened.
Before opening West View, I worked as a house manager and spent years inside the LA recovery community. I saw the difference between houses that were businesses first and houses that were homes first. West View is the second kind.
I live on the property. This isn't a portfolio investment I check on once a month — it's my home too. When something needs handling, I'm the one who handles it. When a resident is struggling at 11PM, I'm the one who's there.
What we stand for
Small on purpose
Ten beds means I know every resident — where they are in their recovery, what they're working on, and when something's off.
Lived experience, not theory
Everything we ask of residents, I've done myself. The structure here exists because it's what worked for me and the people I came up with.
Recovery first, always
The house rules aren't arbitrary. Every requirement — testing, meetings, curfew, chores — exists because it works.
